International Football Scouting

This football course is an introductory programme designed for applicants with little or no previous experience. Across three theory weekends participants get to know the basic concepts, the rules and the key methods that clubs and player agencies expect — and which they can then try out in practice at one of our professional partners. As part of the course, participants also learn from guest lecturers recognised in the industry.

Short course description

This football course is a comprehensive programme that can be useful to experienced and beginner participants alike. Over the three theory weekends participants get to know the conceptual background, along with the key rules and methods that clubs and player agencies also expect. What they have learned can then be tried out in a practical environment at one of our professional partners. As part of the programme, participants also learn from recognised professional guest lecturers.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the student:

  • knows the terminology used in football scouting, the fundamental rulebooks and codes that apply to the profession, and the most widely used applications in the field;
  • is able to produce scout reports on players and coaches independently;
  • is able to analyse football matches independently.
